Melanie Einzig

My personal choice of work on a street photographer is Melanie Einzig, as I find her work very interesting and she is a successful woman in a branch of work which is still male-dominated.

Melanie Einzig has been a street photographer for almost 30 years. She mostly takes street photography in NYC. She loves street photography because it doesn't have many restrictions. With her street photography she wants people to see a message. A message of their own making, as a photo shouldn't give just one message.

She uses her work to try to make sense of the world and of the living. While taking street photos you may be recording historical moments without realising.

Another photo I find very interesting by Melanie Einzig is this photo.
I  think that the main focus of this photo is the couple that is hugging, as it shows emotions. The man looks sad, maybe he is letting go of his daughter. You can also see a lot of emotion in the man in front of them, although we can't see his face because he is looking down he seams very tired, but maybe he is also sad because the couple behind him reminded him of something sad, that happened to him in the past. I also find interesting the 2 animals in this photo, the dog seems to turn back to watch the couple engage, while the owl on the man's shoulders also just like his owner seems to look at them. For me, the message of this photo is to stop and appreciate what we have in life as it could easily be gone.

For me, this image represents the truth. In this image, we can see a man playing the piano on the street, his piano pocket is open so people can give him some money. the man next to him is looking at him however his face doesn't show appreciation... it may, in fact, be showing disappointment at the way he is lying on the floor. The two persons approaching him have different reactions, the woman although seams slightly pleased with the music doesn't even look at him while the man looks at him kindly, however neither of them seams interested in giving him any money. Looking at the current situation we are living in ... the Arts sector is the one that has been affected the most .... because even though people enjoy the arts, most don;t think it is a successful work that earns a living.

This image shows dedication, The dedication and patience of this open market seller and how far he d go to sell his vast selection of fruit. On the other hand, we can see the woman who wants to be sure she is buying the best, even if it means smelling and tasting the fruit. This may have been something normal in open markets in Tokyo, however, it is something that is banned nowadays and that is why I find this photo interesting as we can look at it and feel nostalgia at that 'normality' even tho it is not an old photo .
